Indian stock market indices continued to trade in positive terrain in afternoon deal on Monday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, amid short covering by investors in most beaten stocks. Realty and metal stocks saw surge in buying, led by DLF which rallied over 13 per cent after real estate major reported strong earnings for the first quarter ended June, 2017. The company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 110 crore in Q1FY18, from Rs 261 crore in the same quarter last year which included exceptional gain of Rs 329 crore. Among others, Cipla jumped over 6 per cent after drug maker reported 21 per cent year-on-year growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 409 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2017.

At 12:23 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31468.12, up by 254.53 points or by 0.82 per cent, and then NSE Nifty was at 9792.25, up by 81.45 points or by 0.84 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31501.29 and intraday low of 31298.9, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9806.85 and intraday low of 9752.10.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 570.50,+5.12%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 616.00,+3.33%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 394.10,+2.66%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1732.00,+2.23%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7607.90,+2.08%), among others.

On the flip side, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 1992.00,-0.96%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 287.60,-0.79%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 411.55,-0.75%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 982.05,-0.58%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 986.25,-0.49%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, realty and metal stocks emerged as top gainers on BSE, adding as much as 4.22 per cent and 3.17 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2587, shares advanced were 1857, while 631 shares declined and 99 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued to trade higher in late morning deal on Wednesday, holding early gains, as markets sentiment were buoyed by better-than-expected 7 per cent GDP growth in the third quarter, which made India the fastest-growing large economy in the world. Among the individual stocks, Majesco rallied over 13 per cent in intra-day after the company said that its subsidiary, Majesco, USA, has launched two new solutions.

At 12:26 hour, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was trading at 28934.29, up by 190.97 points or by 0.66 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8932.75, up by 53.15 points or by 0.6 per cent.

During the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 29001.35 and intraday low of 28824.17, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8950.25 and intraday low of 8898.6.

Prism Cement soared over 8 per cent after the company said that it has successfully bid for 18,300 tonnes per annum of coal from South Eastern Coalfields, a subsidiary of Coal India, in a recently held auction of coal linkages for the cement industry.

Meanwhile, the Indian rupee was trading lower by 13 paise against its US counterpart amid fund outflows by foreign funds and importers due to fresh demand for the American currency.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2925.05,+2.49%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 695.20,+2.39%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1394.65,+1.89%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 514.95,+1.74%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 876.00,+1.28%), among others.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 450.00,-1.35%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 362.80,-0.64%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 320.15,-0.51%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 162.45,-0.40%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1304.50,-0.19%), were among the top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, realty and pharma stocks were leading the gain, rising as much as 2.46 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2841, shares advanced were 1654 while 1009 shares declined and 178 were unchanged.

The key domestic benchmark extended rally in late morning deal on Thursday amid strong rally in frontline blue-chips such as TCS, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, GAIL (India) and Tata Motors. The market also witnessed value buying in realty and IT stocks as investors digested the quarterly corporate earnings. Traders keenly awaited the outcome of the state election results for more clarity on the government's capacity to revive stalled reforms.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex 28292.43, up by 136.87 points or by 0.49 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8768.45, up by 43.75 points or by 0.5 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 28305.55 and intraday low of 28146.19, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8776.75 and intraday low of 8719.6. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) climbed over 1 per cent after IT bellwether said its board will meet on February 20, 2017 to consider a proposal for buyback of equity shares of the company.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 641.00,+2.97%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1008.40,+2.65%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 5983.50,+2.10%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 503.25,+1.81%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 443.00,+1.48%), among others.

On the flip side, ITC Ltd. (Rs. 269.60,-1.39%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1470.80,-0.63%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2892.35,-0.61%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2775.00,-0.54%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 318.50,-0.48%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, realty and IT stocks were leading the rally, gaining as much as 2.35 per cent and 1.74 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2729, shares advanced were 1664 while 908 shares declined and 157 were unchanged
