The Indian equities continued gaining momentum on Wednesday, tracking firm cues from Asian markets, as traders anticipated progress on tax reform in the US.

Investors also shrugged off geo-political tensions and shifted focus to policy statements from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and European Central Bank President Mario Draghi which could have positive impact on the market. Fortis Healthcare jumped nearly 8 per cent after Rekha Jhunjhunwala, wife of investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, acquired 0.9 per cent stake in the company at Rs 134.65 per share through a bulk deal on Tuesday.

At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31484.33, up by 192.48 points or by 0.62 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9811.65, up by 46.1 points or by 0.47 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31481.43 and intraday low of 31379.25, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9817.85 and intraday low of 9786.75per cent.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2039.40,+2.75%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 899.45,+2.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 382.75,+2.20%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 430.00,+1.98%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 170.25,+1.67%), among others.On the flip side, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1189.50,-0.94%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2489.90,-0.25%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1561.00,-0.15%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, realty and PSU stocks were among top gainers, rising as much as 2.76 per cent and 0.97 per cent, respectively.

Indian equities climbed up in the late morning deals on Wednesday, tracking strong cues from Asian peers, led by strong buying in FMCG and auto stocks. FMCG Major ITC rose over 2 per cent, followed by ADF Foods, Venky's (India), Tata Global Beverages, Godfrey Philips and Heritage Foods. Tata Global Beverages jumped over 8 per cent, hitting 52-week high, after the company said it will launch its premium natural mineral water brand 'Himalayan' in the US market.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31519.97, up by 70.94 points or by 0.23 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9813.85, up by 19.7 points or by 0.2 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31602.64 and intraday low of 31399.35, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9830.75 and intraday low of 9773.85.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 278.15,+2.58%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 4034.00,+2.02%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1175.15,+1.98%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 480.30,+1.65%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1736.75,+1.30%), among others.

On the flip side, sian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1135.00,-1.65%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1132.15,-1.26%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1555.80,-1.10%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 1979.95,-1.09%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 288.85,-1.01%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, FMCG and auto stocks emerged as top gainers on BSE, adding as much as 1.89 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2494, shares advanced were 1438, while 947 shares declined and 109 were unchanged.

The key domestic benchmark extended rally in the late morning deal on Monday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, as investors gave thumbs-up to the successful implementation of the long pending new tax regime, goods and services tax (GST), from July 1 midnight. On the sectoral front, all the thirteen indices were trading in green, with FMCG and metal stocks rising as much as 3.47 per cent and 1.61 per cent respectively.

At 12:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31240.24, up by 318.63 points or by 1.03 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9612.95, up by 92.05 points or by 0.97 per cent.

In the bullish trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 31258.33 and intraday low of 31017.11, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9614 and intraday low of 9543.55.

Maruti Suzuki India soared nearly 2 per cent after the company announced cut in vehicle prices following the implementation of GST from July 1 midnight. According to media reports the company has slashed car between Rs 2,300 and Rs 23,400 per unit.

JMC Projects (India) advanced over 4 per cent on the BSE prices after the company said it has secured new orders of Rs 710 crore.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 343.45,+6.05%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7336.85,+1.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1367.85,+1.50%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 947.25,+1.24%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 550.75,+1.18%), among others.

On the flip side, Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 256.00,-1.06%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 156.80,-1.04%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2767.80,-0.81%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 948.15,-0.76%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 551.55,-0.53%), were among top losers on the BSE.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2587, shares advanced were 1752 while 700 shares declined and 135 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued to trade higher, holding early gains, in late morning deal on Wednesday, helped by strong buying in index heavyweights such as, Tata Motors, GAIL (India), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone and HUL, tracking firm cues from Asian peers. The NSE Nifty reclaimed 9,400 mark as investors roll over their position ahead of the May derivatives contract expiry on Thursday added to the upward move. At 12:17 hour, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at at 30450.48, up by 85.23 points or by 0.28 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9410.05, up by 23.9 points or by 0.25 per cent. In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 30534.15 and intraday low of 30395.69, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9431.9 and intraday low of 9386.35. The Indian Rupee was also trading higher against the greenback amid selling of dollar by banks and exporters, while sustained fund inflows by foreign portfolio investors also boosted home currency’s movement.

Tata Motors rallied nearly 4 per cent after the auto major reported higher-than-expected consolidated net profit after tax of Rs 4,366 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2017. Among others, Videocon Industries continued losing streak for the third day, falling 10 per cent and locked in lower circuit amid surge in the volume trade. The company is set to announce its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 on Friday. The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 467.45,+3.85%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 389.90,+2.48%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 336.40,+1.31%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1033.20,+1.28%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1530.00,+1.28%), among others. On the flip side, Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 521.90,-2.11%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2540.95,-1.44%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6825.10,-0.80%), State Bank of India (Rs. 286.85,-0.80%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1320.75,-0.65%), were among the top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, oil&gas and auto stocks emerged as top gainers, rising as much as 0.72 per cent and 0.4 per cent, respectively. The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2668, shares advanced were 1152 while 1353 shares declined and 163 were unchanged.
