* ADANI PORTS AND SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE: Has put in an expression of interest to develop a port at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu at the site of the Nagarjuna Oil Refinery that is undergoing liquidation.

* BANK OF BARODA: The South African Reserve Bank has imposed a penalty of 400,000 rand (1.89 mln rupees) on the South African arm of the bank for failure to comply with the cash threshold reporting requirements.

* BHARTI AIRTEL: Singtel is likely to raise its stake in Bharti Telecom, the single-largest shareholder in the company, to beyond 50%.
- The company and VODAFONE IDEA have obtained payment terms of up to three years--as against the norm of three-six months--for renewed and fresh equipment contracts, as the telecom operators seek to ease immediate pressure on cash flows as they fight brutal competition.

* BOSCH: Will suspend production at two of its plants for five to eight days to adjust production for meeting the demand and avoiding unnecessary buildup of inventory.

* CIPLA: Will acquire a minority stake held by global venture capital fund Eight Roads Investment Mauritius II in its subsidiary Cipla Health for 3.5 bln rupees.

* COAL INDIA: The company and its large pithead consumers are planning to invest 100 bln rupees in conveyor belts to transport coal directly from mines in a cheaper and cleaner way, without using trucks.

* COFFEE DAY ENTERPRISES: On Jul 31, lender had invoked pledge on 950,000 shares or 0.45% promoter shares in the company.

* DEEP INDUSTRIES: Nomura Singapore sold 199,734 shares or 0.62% stake in the company at 110.63 rupees apiece in a bulk deal on the National Stock Exchange.

* DILIP BUILDCON: Promoters Dilip Suryavanshi, Devendra Jain and Seema Suryavanshi will sell 0.63% stake or 864,042 shares through the open market on Friday to comply with the requirements of minimum  public shareholding.

* DISH TV INDIA: Said unaware of any merger with BHARTI AIRTEL DTH operations.

* ESSAR PORTS: Subsidiary Essar Bulk Terminal Salaya registered a cargo throughput of 1.3 mln tn for the quarter ended Jun 30, showing an impressive growth of 160% on year.

* GUJARAT ALKALIES AND CHEMICALS: Has resumed operations at its phosphoric acid plant at the Dahej complex in Gujarat.

* HCL TECHNOLOGIES: Mohan Chellappa has been appointed as an independent director for five years, effective Tuesday.

* HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORP: Is planning to raise at least 10 bln rupees through the issuance of bonds maturing in five years and has invited bids on Friday.

* INDIA CEMENTS: Plans to set up a new integrated cement factory in Madhya Pradesh and a grinding unit in Uttar Pradesh involving an investment in the range of 13-14 bln rupees in preparation for future demand in North and Central India.

* INDIAN BANK: Has entered into a bancassurance agreement with SBI LIFE INSURANCE CO for distribution of insurance products.

* INFOSYS: Wholly-owned subsidiary, EdgeVerve Systems, has launched AssistEdge RPA 18.0 which aims to fundamentally transform process automation by fostering a new human-digital workforce.

* INTERGLOBE AVIATION: IndiGo co-founder Rakesh Gangwal, who had been waging a lone battle against partner Rahul Bhatia, has found support for his cause from independent board member Anupam Khanna.

* JAMMU & KASHMIR BANK: Jammu & Kashmir's Anti-Corruption Bureau registered two corruption cases against a Delhi-based realtor and various officials of the bank for their alleged roles in defrauding the lender of over 6 bln rupees.

* MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA: Total vehicle production in July fell 25.4% on year to 133,265 units.

* NEW DELHI TELEVISION: Securities Appellate Tribunal on Wednesday upheld the Securities and Exchange Board of India's decision to impose 20-mln-rupee penalty on the company in a case of disclosure lapses regarding tax demand of 4.5 bln rupees.

* NOVARTIS INDIA: US Food and Drug Administration said Swiss drug maker Novartis AG had manipulated data, while seeking approval for Zolgensma, the "world's most expensive drug", used to treat children with spinal muscular atrophy.

* NTPC: The company's latest tender for 1,200 MW solar projects has found no bidder, the first total rejection by project developers since the navratna state firm started inviting bids for renewable energy, forcing it to extend the deadline.

* PETRONET LNG: Has Completed expansion of Dahej unit to 17.5 mtpa. Dahej unit capacity utilisation at 112% in Apr-Jun.
- The company is in talks with BHARAT PETROLEUM CORP for picking up stake in the latter's proposed liquefied natural gas regasification terminal at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, the company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Prabhat Singh said.

* PIRAMAL ENTERPRISES: PE funds Advent International, Blackstone Group, CVC Capital, Carlyle Group and Brookfield have placed initial bids to buy around 30% in Shriram Capital, as existing investors--the company and TPG Capital--seek to exit the Chennai-based financial services firm.

* POWER GRID CORP OF INDIA: NITI Aayog, after consultation with many ministries, has drawn up a list of assets that can be sold including electricity transmission lines of the company, towers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam and MAHANAGAR TELEPHONE NIGAM, pipelines of GAIL INDIA, airports in some cities and prime real estate owned by central public sector enterprises.

* PTC INDIA: Board proposed dilution of stake in two subsidiaries--PTC INDIA FINANCIAL SERVICES and PTC Energy.

* RADICO KHAITAN: The Central Pollution Control Board has allowed the company to restore capacity of its molasses plant to 200 kilo ltr per day from 77 kilo ltr per day.

* RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: Is partnering with iconic US-based luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co to open a line of stores in the country, adding yet another marquee name to its growing portfolio of brands.

* RELIANCE NIPPON LIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT: Nippon Life Asset Management will own 75% of the company after the completion of the open offer and stake sale by RELIANCE CAPITAL.

* ROLTA INDIA: Has signed a debt restructuring agreement with Streamcast Group.

* SORIL INFRA RESOURCES: Nomura Singapore sold 192,022 shares or 0.61% stake in the company at 95.38 rupees a share through a bulk deal on the National Stock Exchange.
