Coal India jumps over 2% on dividend plan

Shares of Coal India rose over 2 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the state-run company said that its board will meet on March 06, 2017, to consider payment of interim dividend, if any, for the year 2016-17.Following the announcement, shares of company gained as much as 2.4 per cent to hit an intra-day high of Rs 327.50 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.In a similar fashion, stocks of company rose 2.36 per cent to Rs 327.15 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 28,944.71, up 183.12 points, or 0.64 per cent, at 12:24 hours.
