* AUTOMOBILE: The government has amended the Central Motor Vehicles Rules and made it  mandatory for all new vehicles sold after April 1, 2019, to come fitted with high security registration plates.

* NON-BANKING FINANCIAL CO: IL&FS Financial Services has defaulted on interest payment of 519.5 mln rupees towards non-convertible debentures that were due on Thursday.

* OIL AND GAS: A cut of 1 mln barrels per day in crude oil production by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies is enough to balance oil markets, Saudi Arabia's energy minister Khalid Al- Falih said.

* POWER: Nabha Power is planning to raise 12.5 bln rupees through bonds and may soon invite bids.

* REGULATORY: With the capital levels of most Indian banks at the borderline of regulatory requirement, Reserve Bank of India Executive Director Sudarshan Sen has called for the need for banks to shore up their capital to tide over economic fluctuations rather than dip into reserves.

* SUGAR: The Punjab government has kept the state-advised price of sugarcane unchanged at 310 rupees per 100 kg for the 2018-19 (Oct-Sep) season.
